Abstract

An inquiry into what can be nowadays understood as vision. The objective is to observe the photographic paradigm shift to a post-photographic one, the nomadic availability of portable devices and the transposition of the boundaries between visible and invisible by means of artifacts (satellites and microscopes). The start of a case study on the blind Slovene photographer Evgen Bavcar’s creating process. Resort to the civilization discontentment depicted by Freud to guide the understanding of a broader kind of discontentment which is visible in the concept of Prosthesis and in the approach of technics as Art (articulation, artifice) brought by New Psychoanalysis (MD Magno).
