Abstract

The paper intends to make a reflection on theories that seek to understand the journalists: the functionalist approach and studies on gatekeepers and newsmaking; sociological perspective and ethics of the profession, that propose to study the professional identity of the journalist, and the journalist’s studies from binomial Communication and Work to understand the values and the relations of communication of journalists in the world of work.
