Abstract

How to explain the mysterious influence of symbols or words on life? The answer, to which the semiotician Peirce was devoted to, I will explore the mediation effects represented in Jogo de Cena (2007), a documentary film by Brazilian director E. Coutinho, an experimental inquiry into narrative mediation in a filmed theatrical setting. There seems to be a double mediation process: the spontaneous narratives of personal experience and the quasi-fictional, scripted performances of Brazilian actresses.
