Contemporary images: complexities and interfaces

Abstract

The contemporary communication travels by flows, transpositions, transformations mediated by media technologies. To reflect and analyze the construction and the traffic of images, we must seek new theoretical architectures. Will be discussed the concepts of complex image and interface developed by Josep M. Català, and references of other authors, as Lev Manovich. The Català’s researches about images bring us theoretical tools that can be applied to still and moving images in different formats.
