The entertainment which informs or the information that amuses? News, entertainment media and amusement

Abstract

The concept of entertainment has been employed in journalism and media studies to highlight the presence of elements of amusement, even in the news. In this paper, we would like to point out the aspects of information that sometimes is blended with entertainment in fictional media programs. It is presented the aspect of entertainment as the presence of ludic elements in news and then shift to the second aspect, the use of fiction to convey factual information and how it can raise social and political issues to public discussion.
