Abstract

To present the importance of visual storytelling in photojournalism, this article addresses the process of making photographic essays published as visual chronicles produced by Pierre Verger in the years 1941/1942 and Fernando de Tacca in 2004. To Pierre Verger, the focus has been on everyday topics, and the series called “Diários Portenhos” evoked the memories of military rule, Argentine myths in images and strong political presence of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.
