Abstract

What can photography do in front of the profound changes that Brazilian cities pass today? How can it deal with the urban mutations, pointing to new landscapes and possible experiences? Based on the works of Rancière, Didi-Huberman and Rouillé, this article is dedicated to think on the relationship between photography and the city, starting from a discussion that intertwines aesthetics and politics. To guide our research, we propose here a dialogue with the work Urban Chaos by photographer Eustáquio Neves.
