The article presents the culture of listening as a possible way of creating bonds in an imaging excess, vision hypertrophy context. According to Wulf ideas, the ontogenetic development of hearing and the growth of abstraction are outlined following the emphasis transition from narratives to images. It also analyzes some perspectives on sound conveyance among the four communication processes as described by Flusser. Together with Merleau-Ponty, the article shows the reversibility between speaking and listening, and from the point of view of Berendt, Kamper, and Baitello it bears evidence of the culture of listening in contemporary communication processes.Downloads
