Abstract

This essay examines the difficulties that traditional communication companies have in dealing with the emergency of new media, like Internet or mobile phone. It shows how the relationship between media and the media consumer both for entertainment and for information was radically changed with the possibilities of interaction. It also shows that the web consumer acquired the power that previously was a monopoly of the old media. The communication that once was unidirectional became bidirectional, and a deep understanding of this change was not yet absorbed by the traditional media on account of the fear of the cannibalization.
