Abstract

This article discusses the possibility of relating journalism and amusement by means of the form, in more precise terms in the format characteristics we call “human interest report”, subordinated to the “diversional genre”, in the terms proposed by José Marques de Melo. Based on bibliographical review and empirical investigation – interviews with Brazilian journalists – we demonstrate that crossing information on updated facts with entertainment not only is possible but also it is sustained by these professionals interviews.
