Culture and publishing processes: the representation of the cultural-artistic system in Diário do Sul (1986-1988)

Abstract

This article presents some results of the research Journalism and representation of the artistic-cultural in the’80s: a study of the newspaper Diario do Sul (Porto Alegre, 1986-1988) in progress in FABICO / UFRGS. This focus of the investigation, based on analysis of content and techniques of oral history, discusses how the general process of editing in the newspaper Diário do Sul drove the representation of the cultural system, with special attention in its culture section. It verifies what were the main parameters considered by the newspaper in the configuration of this portrait.
