Abstract

This article discusses the political consequences of entertainment journalism programs. Although their main goal is to entertain, they can influence the opinion of a great number of electors, specially among those with low interest in politics, whenever they report about politics. In this article, I deal with the case of the São Paulo 2008 municipal election’s coverage done by the program CQC. I come to the conclusion that candidate Marta Suplicy was the most harmed by the TV program, due to errors of campaign.
