Semiotic considerations on vision and touch
Keywords:
Touch, vision, semiotics, communicationAbstract
In this paper we have a double purpose: characterize in the field of semiotics how communication processes happens both for visual and tactile perceptual systems and, at the same time, propose phenomenological and logical links between these systems. Our conceptual framework relies mostly in the interface of the Philosophy developed by the American Charles S. Peirce with cognitive sciences. Among the results achieved, we highlight the hypothesis of vision prone to deduction and the sense of touch prone to induction, both perceptual/logical systems connected and complementary.Downloads
