Creative writing: the art of developing awareness in youth through writing

Abstract

This paper reports the experience of two authors, both leaders responsible for implementing creative writing techniques at a Communication Workshop. This was held in the Aricanduva and Itaquera Hydrographical Basins Enviromental History Project (october-december, 2004). The main aim of the project was to recount the history of the region through the perception of teachers and 120 people between 9 and 21 years of age. They came from a range of places including governmental schools, community centers and NGOs located in the area.
