The courses of communication theory in the light of journalism: obstacles and inappropriatenesses of the technicist’s and intellectualist’s positions

Abstract

This study tries to show and discuss the role of the courses of communication theory in the development of a journalist based on two standpoints or two concepts on journalism, the technical and the intellectual concepts. We also try to explain the different ideas of theories subjacent to these two concepts and the consequences of adopting one or another.
