Memory and identity: the experience of the column you know this place?

Abstract

Since 2007, the Jornal de Londrina publishes the column Do you know this place?, a snap of some public place, and then the readers are challenged to guess what is it. On Tuesdays, it releases the full picture. This paper shows results of a research aimed at identifying the variables that influence readers winning more when some spaces are concerned rather than others. It uses the notions of place and non-place, memory an identity.
