Images, visuality and communicaton criticism: latin american perspectives
Keywords:
Image, visuality studies, critical theoryAbstract
The text makes an analysis of the new epistemological frameworks of communication, analyzing the relationships and conflicts between image, visuality and critical theory. It is stated that in Latin America the methodologies and conceptual designs have been reformulated for decades, connecting the image, the visuality, with policies and the critical view of images, from the perspective of the political economy of culture, which questions the uncritical acceptance theoretical fashions. These are thoughts from a Latin American perspective – fundamentally pedestrian – that will help design new research programs.Downloads
