Journalism of war and peace in the Middle East

Abstract

The Dov Shinar’s lecture searches to establish some parameters to define the Journalism of Peace applied to the reality of XXI century. News of wars are generally focused in events, and not in the processes. In this kind of coverage what is under question its the high value of wars informations. The war media covering reflects many of the media preferences for the violence and the sensationalism. Unlikely, peace media covering approach is more in processes of long term than in punctual events. The peace journalism is a critical strategy that aims at the improvement of the realities and of the media.
