The biography as a journalistic event

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the genre biography as a journalistic event. To start with, a bibliographical review was carried out about the concept of “event” and the way journalism has apprehended it. Next, the paper focuses on the biography as a genre, its definition and its uses by different areas of knowledge, such as history, literature and by journalism itself as a social practice. Finally, the article proposes some reflection on the genre as a journalistic event from the analysis of the records about the life story of the Brazilian singer Maysa.
