Structural factors of pioneer virtual communities in social nets

Abstract

Virtual communities are technological instruments of success on communication online, in connected contemporary society. However, virtual pioneer communities such as Usenet and WELL, among others, were the first to test empirically structures and technological tools with the objective of maintaining their users motivated and collaborative. The paper analyses structural technological factors of these virtual pioneer communities which still remain as primordial elements in social connected nets.
