Cultural studies and media studies: the presentation of subjects in television programs

Abstract

Dealing with the concept of representation, according cultural studies perspective, the aim of this paper is to catch which are the positions of subjects slums dwellers building by television narratives. From the methodological principles of the content analysis articulated to gender television analysis, we search to make a comparative investigation among two Brazilian programs diffused by Rede Globo of Television: Linha Direta (2004) e Cidade dos Homens (2002).
